Neulibs on Void Linux
2026-09-12
Recently, I've been playing around with the neulibs (2 wonderful libraries for building wayland compositors), but there was always one thing that would bug me off: installing it breaks my workflow. I typically install things by using XBPS (Void's native package manager), which made the system feel intentional and coherent, unlike compiling from source.
So I decided to fix that by build an extra Void repository specifically for the neulibs. To add the repository to your repository list, simply run: "echo 'repository=https://xbps.hgdump.net' | doas tee /etc/xbps.d/neu-xbps.conf" and update your system. Side note: it also provides the headers for the libraries that you install.
